Have you ever walked around in Pokémon GO and felt like something was missing? Like there was a Pokémon out there you just couldn’t quite find? Well, you’re not wrong! There’s a sneaky Pokémon called Ditto that’s hiding in plain sight.

Pokemon GO Ditto Breakdown

Unlike your usual Bulbasaurs and Pikachus, Ditto doesn’t appear on the map like a normal Pokémon. This little trickster disguises itself as other Pokémon, just like it does in the Pokémon TV show! So, you could be catching a seemingly ordinary Starly, only to have it transform into a Ditto after you catch it. Talk about a surprise!

The good news is, Ditto doesn’t change its disguises too often. As of December 2023, it can only turn into eight different Pokémon:

*Diglett and Grimer from the good old days of Generation 1
*Snubbull from the Johto region (Gen 2)
*Corphish from Hoenn (Gen 3)
*Starly, the common Gen 4 bird
*Roggenrola and Tympole from the Unova gang (Gen 5)
*And finally, Litleo from the Kalos sunshine (Gen 6)

So, if you see any of these Pokémon hanging around a Pokéstop, catch them! You never know, one of them might just be the Ditto you’ve been searching for.

And to increase your chances of meeting this slippery shapeshifter, here are some extra tips:

Use Incense: Regular Incense or your Daily Adventure Incense will attract more Pokémon to your location, giving you more chances to stumble upon a disguised Ditto.
Focus on the frequent flyers: Snubbull and Starly are especially common, so keep an eye out for them. The more you catch, the higher your chances of finding Ditto hiding among them.
Remember, catching Ditto is mostly about luck. But with a little knowledge and some Incense magic, you might just catch that sneaky shapeshifter and add it to your Pokémon GO collection!
