Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk Coming Soon!

Dungeons & Dragons is returning to the beloved setting of Phandelver in a new adventure module called Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk.

The adventure takes place in the same region as the first Starter Kit for 5E, Lost Mine of Phandelver. Players will explore the town of Phandalin and investigate a consuming darkness that could spell doom for Faerûn itself.

The adventure includes a classic dungeon crawl with an element of horror. It also adds 20 new creatures to the bestiary, many of which use psionic magic. In many cases, the unexplained corruption has mutated the creatures beyond recognition.

The designers say that the corruption is not just limited to the characters and beasts in the story. It is also reflected in the art and visual design of the book. They wanted to create an immersive and thoughtful experience for players that was as visually compelling as the story is exciting.

Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk will be available in book format on September 19. A digital version will be available on D&D Beyond on September 5.
